Database Management

The Database Management Group charter is to install and support the Database Management Software (i.e. IMS and DB2) platforms on the z/OS mainframes. We provide a large scale database 'engine' that all application environments (i.e. Web Servers, TSO, Personal Computer Applications, CICS, AS400s) use to access the data our clients have entrusted to us for safe and secure storage. This information is contained in several thousand data tables and indexes. The Database Management Group designs, implements, and secures our clients information using proven data analysis and storage methods. The Group actively supports the Application Solutions areas with current database design and implementation practices that benefit our clients. They also assist with performance and tuning reviews to implement efficient application systems. And finally, the Database Management Group safeguards our client's information from loss, misuse, or corruption by unknown and unauthorized entities. For additional information or to discuss your database requirements, please contact Ed Hively at (402) 471-0649 or edward.hively@nebraska.gov.
