The GIO Office hosts and delivers geospatial content, web services, location based services (LBS), and other applications through the Enterprise Geospatial/GIS platform. User agencies can integrate GIS and geospatial data with map capabilities and spatial content into new or existing websites and applications from our hosted geospatial data, geoprocessors and viewers. Access to this data and services enhances traditional analytics and decision support tools by providing a geographical/spatial context and meaning to information.
Geospatial Data Management, Hosting, and Web Map ApplicationsThese services provide access to and hosting of geospatial data, geoprocessors, geolocators, and web-based mapping applications and services.
Data and Software Licensing
The State utilizes statewide enterprise agreements and other purchasing contracts for maintaining geospatial data and software.
State of Nebraska Agency Esri Licenses
Desktop and online Esri licenses are available through the Enterprise Geospatial/GIS platform. The ArcGIS Online (AGO) accounts for Nebraska state agencies has been created and is available for all state agencies to use. The account is located at: http://nebraska.maps.arcgis.com. The purpose of having one AGO account across all agencies is to better share data and have consistency in usage of the NebraskaMAP geospatial data holdings and other authoritative data layers. A set of policies have been developed for using this online tool.
Statewide Address and Demographic Database
The State of Nebraska has entered into a statewide ELA contract with InfoGroup to acquire statewide address and demographic data. This service provides access to statewide address data for consumers and businesses. It provides contact names, phone numbers, and other demographic data. The data is updated twice a year. The data is made available in tabular format, geodatabase, web map service (ie., REST) and as a geocode service.

The Esri MPA includes information about the terms, licensing and price listing for their software. This MPA is available only to state agency, city/local government, and other state eligible political subdivision in order to support business operations. Educational groups including K-12, colleges, and universities have their own contract pricing arrangements with Esri.
State of Nebraska Esri K-12 Enterprise License Agreement (ELA)
The Nebraska Department of Education and the Office of the CIO partnered to bring free GIS software and online mapping service through a statewide educational enterprise license agreement (ELA) with Esri. This provides software and online instruction for all K-12 schools, districts, staff, students, and formal youth clubs in the state. This software and service is valued at $80,000 per year.
