Database Management Services(DBMS) for the Mainframe

Description

Database Management Services for the Mainframe provides installation and support for DB2 and IMS database structures. The service provides a database ‘engine’ that can be used by all front-end software tools (i.e. Web, TSO, CICS, AS400, Windows) to access the data our customers have entrusted to us for safe and secure keeping. This service safeguards the information from loss, misuse, and corruption by unknown and unauthorized entities.Features include:

  • Both relational (DB2) and hierarchical (IMS) database structures;
  • Database policies and procedures to support DB2 on the mainframe;
  • Built in back out and recovery services;
  • Security and protection of customer data;
  • The use of mainframe front-end attachments (e.g. CICS, TSO) to access DB2 data;
  • Remote customer (e.g. Web, Client/Servers) connections thru the services of “DB2 Connect” to access DB2 data;
  • Mainframe tools for customers to query and manipulate data without the use of a developed application (e.g. QMF, File-Aid for DB2 or IMS);
  • Tools (e.g. Data Propagator) to allow customers to import or export data between IBM database platforms.
