Intergovernmental Data Services (IDSP) - Field Services

Description

IDSP provides the infrastructure for applications involving both state agencies and county offices (e.g. Vehicle Title and Registration (VTR) application).

The service includes:

  • Equipment – PCs, terminals, printers, servers, network equipment and cabling
  • Diagnosis and troubleshooting of application infrastructure issues
  • Network design consulting within county offices
  • Network maintenance for county offices
  • Network monitoring for infrastructure for the county offices
  • Coordination of installation via network services for county offices
  • Project management/consulting for new application development or application upgrades when the application involves both state agencies and county government

Business Value

IDSP—Field Services provides cost and personnel savings. Agencies realize cost savings due to business volume and centralization of administration and purchasing. Agencies realize personnel savings because IDSP minimizes or, in most cases, eliminates the need for agency and county personnel to support the infrastructure. The service allows customers to concentrate on their core business. Network outages are handled in a timely manner due to the State’s volume of service and relationship with service providers.

IDSP—Field Services provides increased security by providing secured/private traffic between remote sites and the core network and by providing dedicated encrypted services. By taking a proactive approach to tracking and mitigating future risks (e.g. known equipment problems are replaced before other problems occur), down time is minimized.

Customer Profile
